If you're looking for a way to cut back on
white sugar, (aren't we all?) Agave Nectar is a great sugar
substitute. Firstly, it's got a lower glycemic
index, so it's absorbed into the bloodstream more slowly than sugar
(fancy talk for "no sugar crash"). Most agave brands are organic, raw, and
kosher. It dissolves easily in coffee, iced teas or smoothies, so say good bye to those annoying
sugar floaties at the bottom of your drink. AND it's 25% sweeter than sugar,
so you use less and save calories. I like
to add it to plain yogurt with a little vanilla extract or orange
zest when I'm feeling fancy, or use it to sweeten lemonade or on top of pancakes.
